There are three counties in this region: Szolnok, Hajdú-Bihar, and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg.
The landscape of the region is predominantly flat, resembling a plain. The rivers of the Great Plain and the Hortobágy, along with numerous natural and artificial lakes, provide excellent habitat for a wide variety of small and large game. In Szolnok and Hajdú-Bihar counties, agriculture dominates, while forestry is more prevalent in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg.
The region is renowned for its roe deer population, particularly in Szolnok county, where roe bucks with antlers weighing up to 600 grams are not uncommon. This makes it a must-visit destination for hunters seeking trophy bucks.
In the northeastern part of the region, bordering Romania, big game is abundant, making it the best area in Hungary for fallow deer hunting. The hunting areas near Gúth are particularly famous, with record trophy bucks being bagged here. The current record trophy, obtained in 2002, weighed 5.43 kilograms and scored 237.63 CIC points, while the former record from 1991 was also shot in this area, weighing 5.43 kilograms with 233.11 CIC points.
In Szolnok county, we offer large-scale hare and pheasant driven hunts. The region attracts both local and foreign hunters seeking exceptional trophies and unforgettable hunting experiences.
Our guests are typically accommodated in family motels and hotels, although authentic hunting lodges are rare, they boast excellent quality. The area is also home to many renowned spas, such as Hajdúszoboszló, Debrecen, and Nyírbátor, which offer relaxation and rejuvenation opportunities. Visitors can also enjoy local dishes, such as Hortobágy-style pancakes, slambuc (potato dish), and pálinka, a traditional Hungarian fruit brandy made from plums and considered the finest.
