This area of 8,400 hectares is located in the northeastern part of Baranya County and is part of the East Mecsek Nature Reserve. 92% of the area is covered by beech and oak forests. The elevation ranges between 300 and 500 meters above sea level and the highest point of the Mecsek Mountains (Zengő, 682 m) is found here. The hilly terrain poses a considerable challenge for hunting. Hunters need to be physically fit and can hunt either from a hunting stand or through stalking. In total, there are 95 hunting stands available. The wild boar hunts are well organized, and shooting boar from the stands is also an option.
