ROE DEER HUNT IN RÁBAKÖZ

The Rábaköz hunting area spans across the borders of the villages Vitnyéd, Csermajor, Hövej, Csapod, and Petőháza, covering an area of 4,400 hectares. In this region, a high-quality red deer herd can be found, with stags averaging a trophy weight of 6.5 kg. Several medal stags are harvested each year. The significance of the wild boar population is also notable, employing various individual hunting methods. Cooperative big game hunts are organized at regular intervals. Unfortunately, the roe deer population in the hunting area is steadily decreasing, and the number of roe deer is diminishing. The roe deer stock is characterized by animals with a maximum trophy weight of 300 g, particularly among the forest bucks.
