The extensive Iharos hunting ground covers an area of 5,100 hectares and expands into the Zala district. The hilly landscape is 72% covered by forests. Atop the high-quality oak and beech stands, characterized by tree canopies that conceal the hunter from wildlife, one can find not only red deer but also a significant number of wild boars. The area is distinguished not only for red deer hunting (with a record weight of 13.15 kg in 1998) but also for highly esteemed open-field driven hunts that predominantly take place in winter. When needed, successful driven hunts are also conducted in the game enclosure within the hunting ground.
